You already know a different version of your life is possible.

NET sessions go where talk therapy can’t, to the place where the pattern actually lives

Reduce stress, anxiety, negative behavior patterns, and physical pain with neuroscience-backed mind-body techniques.

You're here because something wants to shift

You want less anxiety, stress, or repeated setbacks, and more ease.

Maybe you’re someone others depend on. From the outside, you’re capable, thoughtful, and holding everything together. But underneath it all is a tension you can’t quite explain. A constant sense of holding, vigilance, or pressure that has been there so long it almost feels normal.

You’ve already done the work to understand yourself. You’ve reflected, talked things through, and recognized the patterns. And still, certain reactions keep showing up. Responses that feel older, deeper, and bigger than the moment in front of you.

At a certain point, what you’re looking for isn’t more insight, it’s a change. A way to move forward without having to relive your past every time something gets activated.

NET is designed for exactly that. It works with the stress patterns your body and nervous system may still be holding. Not only from personal experiences, but also from the emotional weight we absorb every day through the world around us: the news, social media, ongoing stress and collective grief.

With the right support, somatic therapy and NET sessions can help you create lasting change with kindness and self-compassion.

NET-mind-body Therapy Sessions

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is a form of nervous system healing that helps release emotional blocks, unwanted habits, and physical pain.

While psychotherapy and counselling predominantly work with the conscious brain, NET works predominantly with the other-than-conscious, the layer where "imprints" of past stress are actually stored.

Imprints are physiological echoes left by stressful events, often early in life, and can remain in the body for years as automatic responses to perceived threats.

(yes, the body really does keep the score).

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) therapy is an embodied practice that can help you resolve and release these stored responses.

Sessions, Pricing & FAQ

NET is designed to support your nervous system over time. Here you'll find details on session formats, what to expect, and the options available for working together. The nervous system likes safety; people like clear pricing.

  • Online sessions are 75 minutes. In-office sessions are 60 minutes. Both follow the same overall structure, with the format shaping the pacing.

The first session is 90 minutes for both online and in-person.

  • Many clients find online sessions benefit from extra time to arrive, settle, and close, making the session feel as complete as an in-person one. In person, that arrival and transition happen more naturally through the shared space, so 60 minutes is enough to do the full work.

  • Both formats support the same work. In-person sessions can offer a more embodied, in-the-room experience, while online sessions allow you to do the work from a familiar space and can be a good fit if travel, distance, or scheduling is a factor.

  • Yes, absolutely. Mixing formats can be helpful if you're unable to travel to western Massachusetts, not wanting to commute, feeling unwell, or simply needing more flexibility on a given week. The work continues to build either way.

  • Both online and in person will support your goals, choose whichever works best for you. The 5-session series is recommended for most clients. NET is designed to support your nervous system over time, and a series gives the work space to build in a more meaningful and lasting way.

  • Absolutely. Some people find that more time lets them settle in and go deeper without feeling rushed. If a longer session would serve you, reach out and we'll arrange one that fits.

  • Not at all. You're welcome to begin with a single session and move at your own pace. Many clients it is useful to think of a series of five for the consistency it offers, but we can always adjust based on what feels right for you.

  • It depends on the format if you would like to work online or in person. Please see pricing at a glance below for the full list.

  • Please give 24 hours notice when you can. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice aren't eligible for a refund.

That said: life happens. We're all human. In the case of sudden illness or genuine emergency, reach out and we'll figure something out together.

  • No -there are two reasons why

    1. You are more than a number:  Insurance relies on diagnostic codes that box you into a specific category.  After 25+ years in this work, I've seen too many people whose experience didn't fit any box or who needed something more nuanced.

    2. Your privacy matters: Insurance companies may share your medical data with third parties such as data brokers, pharmaceutical companies, and marketing firms. I believe that your healing history is yours and yours only.

Pricing at a glance

First Session Regular Sessions

What your journey looks like

  • During our 15-30 minute phone chat, you’ll share what is happening for you, and I’ll answer any questions you have about the process. You decide if it's a good fit.

  • After you schedule your first session, you’ll receive a few intake forms to complete before our first session.

  • For online sessions: have a quiet, distraction-free space with stable wifi. Feel free to have anything with you that you need to feel comfortable, such as a blanket, pillow or glass of water.

For in-person sessions: Simply arrive in comfortable clothing. Parking instructions are sent via email after you book.

  • You'll share what brought you here, and what you want to change. We’ll review your goals, health history, and lifestyle, and then begin. In the session you share as much or as little as you like. NET works without you having to retell your history.

  • Around session five, most clients notice they feel a greater sense of ease and that triggers are losing intensity. We'll re-evaluate what brought you in and assess how you're doing.

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) Transformation Stories

  • “Getting NET has been the best self-care decision I’ve made in years. Dr. Irvine has been so kind to me in what was a very difficult life transition. Even though my life was in turmoil, when I was in sessions with Dr. Irvine, I was able to process about my current problems right along with some pretty intense trauma history. I have a therapist, but when those old problems and stories came up during these big changes in my life, everything seemed overwhelming. After just a few sessions of NET, I could feel my whole body start to come down from being in fight/flight mode. And even more important to me, my mindset changed, and I started to see possibilities and the choices that I could make. I started to trust myself again. I could not have done this on my own and I am so grateful to Dr. Irvine, I feel like she helped me find myself again.”

  • “During my time working with Dr. Irvine, I developed the ability to see that there is something coming from underneath what I’m going through now. I also learned that the feelings of anger that I have may be coming from more than just right now. That really changes my outlook on life.

There is more space between what I feel and what comes out in how I act. To have that leeway for me, is a big improvement. I don’t have to act on everything I feel without thinking.

How do I say this…when I leave the session, I actually feel like there is more hope. It may sound simple to say but when I walk out of here there are a lot of things in my life haven’t gone so good but now there is also some hope that I can get to my goals.

Also, Dr. Irvine also really helped me learn to slow down, LoL.  I’ve also stopped trying to do all 15 things at once and now I can just focus on doing 1 or 2 things that actually help me.”

  • “Working with Dr. Irvine was really good for me, and I really looked forward to the sessions because I felt comfortable enough with her that I could open up and get some things out that were bothering me. With her encouragement I was able to face some things that I’ve been having trouble facing.

I worked a little harder at looking at the positive aspects of the negative things that I’m going through. It helped me realize that I do have a good support network that I really wasn’t connecting with, but now I do have a small network of guys that are genuine and may be lifelong friends.

Working with Dr. Irvine give me a foothold to open up and talk about some things that were really bothering me that I had not been able to talk about until I started the program with her. While I still have some pretty big problems, I can face them, knowing I am not alone.”

  • I'm a classic overachiever who sets goals and meets them, but one area had me stuck and frustrated with myself for years. Working with Dr. Irvine, it became clear where the block came from. I had some big belief systems running that I hadn't even realized were beliefs, I just thought that was how life is. Things started to change for me, and amazingly, I began to feel excitement about my goal instead of anger and despair.

More FAQs

  • NET sessions help identify the physiological responses your nervous system has stored and what triggers them. Once you engage with the pattern using NET, you gain more autonomy in how you respond to everyday stressors.

Over time, NET can change how you react to triggers, ease long-standing habits and addictions, and reduce physical pain rooted in stored stress.

Because nervous system regulation is central to this work, I may integrate elements of Somatic

Experiencing (SE) or Internal Family Systems (IFS) when it serves you. The process is always client-centered. We move at your pace.

  • People often report feeling lighter, calmer, or less emotionally reactive. Some describe it as a shift that happens without needing to revisit or retell the full story. Others notice a subtle but meaningful easing of internal tension, like their system has had a chance to settle. The way these experiences unfold in daily life can feel gradual or immediate and supportive in a way that continues to unfold over time.

  • In most cases, meaningful and lasting shifts unfold over about five sessions. This rhythm often gives your system enough time and repetition to process, integrate, and stabilize new patterns gently.

That said, there’s no strict formula. Healing is not one-size-fits-all, and your pace matters. Some people benefit from spacing sessions out to allow for deeper integration, while others feel supported by meeting more regularly to maintain a sense of continuity and momentum.

Research using fMRI imaging suggests that a sequence of five Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) sessions can help reduce activity in areas of the brain associated with stored stress responses. This aligns with what many clients experience—a gradual easing, rather than a sudden shift.

A five-session framework is simply a supportive guideline. It offers enough consistency for changes to take root, both in the nervous system and in daily life, while still allowing flexibility for your individual needs and timing.

  • Yes! A common misconception about NET is that you have to be in pain, or crisis to benefit from this work.

The truth is, you don’t have to be struggling to grow. NET is incredibly supportive for individuals who are doing really well and wish to achieve peak performance and flow states. As life starts to feel successful, it may create unexpected friction with the old identities and your sense of self.

NET can help you move through career plateaus, athletic performance, creativity blocks, or big changes in self-identity. This work is excellent for you when you know the walls you are hitting are mostly your own, not just external.

We can work in sessions to help expand your “upper limit” tolerance. It's a great place to redefine your relationship to excellence. This can support you in feeling safer with success, instead of bracing for it to disappear or waiting for the “other shoe to drop.”

  • Many people find that it is possible to encounter the feelings that come up with ease, but emotions are welcome in NET. It isn't about staying composed, it's about letting your system finally process what it hasn't had space to heal. You'll never be pushed beyond your capacity. Sessions are titrated, meaning we work in small doses with regular check-ins. If you need to slow down, stop, or shift direction, you say so. You stay in the driver's seat the whole time.

  • Wonderful!
