Anna Maria Irvine, D.C.
Certified Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) Practitioner
Trauma-Informed Mind-Body Practitioner
I’ve had the privilege of facilitating Neuro Emotional Technique for 25+ years helping people find meaning in the most tender and transformative moments of their lives.
My work sits at an intersection of neuroscience and the sacred, drawing on research-backed mind-body modalities while honoring that we are, at our core, more than our diagnoses and the difficult experiences we move through.
If you've been searching for someone who can meet you as a whole person– rather than a checklist of symptoms–you're in the right place.
Why I do this work
I believe the body already knows how to heal. It carries an innate intelligence that just needs the right container. The further I've explored holistic modalities over the years, the more I've witnessed the profound intelligence each person holds, even in the presence of significant challenges.
My role is to help you access the wisdom and capacity that already live in you. NET doesn't cure or heal. It gently removes the blocks held in the nervous system, so the body can return to its own natural ability to heal. As the only Certified NET Practitioner in Western Massachusetts, this is work I've been entrusted with for 25+ years.
My certification in Neuro Emotional Technique is offered only to licensed practitioners with advanced clinical training, and it is maintained through continued study. It's one of the ways I hold this work with care.
My path here
In 1994, I experienced Neuro Emotional Technique for the first time, as a client. It changed my life, and I felt called to offer this work to others.
That calling led me to enroll in chiropractic university, because that is where NET was taught at the time. Chiropractic became the doorway into a deeper investment in mind-body education: Psychosynthesis Counseling and Coaching (Assagioli) and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. My training continued to evolve through Polyvagal-informed approaches, Somatic Experiencing (SE), Pre and Perinatal Somatic Developmental work, somatic attachment, relational communication, and transpersonal approaches to healing.
I started to see how far the root causes of trauma can go: sometimes generations deep. This led me to training in Ancestral and Lineage Healing, Plant Medicine Integration, and Systemic Family Constellations Facilitation (Hellinger).
What ties it all together is this: the body keeps the score, and the body also knows the way home.
Who I work with
I work with thoughtful, resourced people who've done the inner work or are ready to do inner work and who know there's still more available underneath.
Particularly those navigating childhood trauma, medical trauma, recovery from high-control groups, and the upper limits of their own success.
You are welcome here
This trauma-informed practice is welcoming and accessible to people with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), neurodivergent individuals, and members of LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities.
This is a space of attuned pacing, where you decide what feels right to share.
My Approach is…
-
Human-Centered
I focus on what you want in life rather than on the diagnoses you’ve been handed. You are the expert on your own experience.
-
Rooted in Neuroscience & Spirituality
I draw on research-backed modalities, lineage-based wisdom, and a deep understanding that we are divinely connected.
-
Trauma Informed
Trauma and stress can shape the mind, body, and nervous system. How they live in you can change. Your greatest wounds can become sources of meaning, strength and insight.
The power to heal is already within you, waiting to be nurtured and supported.
Values that inform my work
-
Practicing What I Teach
Approaching client sessions with neutrality requires doing this work myself. Every modality I facilitate, I have engaged with deeply.
-
Your Reality Is Malleable
I believe you can change aspects of your reality by changing how you focus on yourself and the world around you.
-
The Desire for Change Looks Different for Everyone
At times, pain or dysfunction may drive you to seek support. Other times, it’s the desire to grow and express life more fully. Sometimes, it’s both. All are valid.
Community Involvement
I also believe in giving back to my community.
Since 2016 I have been volunteering as a Holistic Practitioner for the Lyme Disease Resource Center in Northampton, Massachusetts.
For over 4 years I served as a provider for The Resiliency Program at Soldier On, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Leeds, Massachusetts. Soldier On is a residency and recovery program for homeless Veterans.
I recently had the privilege of becoming part of the integrative therapy team at Cancer Connection in Northampton, Massachusetts. Supporting people whose lives have been touched by cancer and helping them cultivate resilience, comfort, and well-being is work that I deeply value.
